KeeMak AI is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. This page summarizes what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.

1. Introduction

Welcome to KeeMak AI ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard information when you use the KeeMak AI mobile application and related services (the "App"). If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

KeeMak AI helps identify insects and bugs from photos using artificial intelligence. AI results are estimates and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong. The App is not a substitute for professional medical, veterinary, pest-control, safety, or scientific advice.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information needed to operate, improve, secure, and support the App, including:

  • Account data, such as email address, display name, user ID, authentication provider, account status, and sign-in/session data.
  • Photos and scan content, such as photos you upload, scan history, image storage references, AI-generated identification results, and scan error details.
  • Profile and preference data, such as onboarding answers, selected countries, bug interests, scan context, and similar preferences you choose to provide.
  • Analytics, diagnostics, technical, security, subscription, support, and feedback data needed to run and protect the App.

We do not directly collect or store full payment card numbers. Payments are handled by Apple & Google for iOS & Android respectively.

3. How We Use Information

  • Create, authenticate, and manage accounts.
  • Process uploaded photos and generate insect or bug identification results.
  • Save scan history, provide paid features, and restore purchases.
  • Improve product quality, reliability, safety, and feature relevance.
  • Respond to support requests, feedback, reports, and privacy requests.
  • Analyze usage, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, protect the App, and enforce our terms.
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, consumer-protection, and security obligations.

4. AI Processing

To perform a scan, the App may send your uploaded photo, prompt instructions, model settings, and relevant context to OpenAI or another AI service provider. We use these providers to generate identification results and related explanatory text.

Provider processing, retention, and security practices may depend on the provider's applicable terms and controls.

5. Third-Party Services

We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate, secure, analyze, support, and monetize the App. These may include OpenAI or another AI provider, Cloudflare, Google/Firebase, Apple, RevenueCat, Mixpanel, Singular, email, and support tools.

6. Legal Basis and Privacy Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with similar rights, we generally process personal data based on contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, or legal obligations.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

You can request privacy help by contacting us at the email below. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may be retained where needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, backup, dispute-resolution, or service-integrity purposes.

7. International Transfers

We are based in Germany, but the App and our service providers may process information in the United States, the European Union, and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, data processing agreements, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

8. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

If you request account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account, including scan history, within 30 days of the request, subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, backup, and dispute-resolution retention needs.

9. Content Rights and Acceptable Use

You retain ownership of photos and other content you submit. By uploading content to the App, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and create AI-generated outputs from that content as needed to provide, maintain, secure, improve, and support the App.

Do not upload illegal, harmful, abusive, hateful, exploitative, sexually explicit, infringing, malicious, or unrelated content. We may restrict, suspend, terminate, or delete access or content if we believe the App is being misused or creates legal, security, operational, or safety risk.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

KeeMak AI may be available to users of different ages based on the App Store or Google Play age rating that applies in their country or region. Where parental consent is required by law, children should use the App only with parent or guardian permission. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us without required consent, please contact us.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
